Facility Rules & Procedures

Safety First

There is absolutely NO GUN HANDLING OR LOADING/UNLOADING  WEAPONS ALLOWED OUTSIDE OF THE SHOOTING RANGE - meaning you must wait until you are on the firing line to handle your weapon.

If it is your FIRST TIME at our facility you MUST sign our range waiver (this goes for those who have NOT visited our range in the past year as well)

Open & Concealed Carry

WBISR does permit both open and concealed carry HOWEVER all firearms carried off-body must be unloaded and cased until the shooter is on the firing line, and cased prior to leaving the firing line. If you do not have a case - please make sure to do the following before entering the facility:

  1. UNLOAD & CLEAR YOUR FIREARM
  2. MAKE SURE THE MAGAZINE IS REMOVED FROM THE FIREARM WITH THE SLIDE LOCKED BACK

RIFLES - we need to see that the chamber is cleared of any ammunition - meaning your ejection port cover must be OPEN (if the port does not lock open then be sure to place a flag or rod in the gun so that we know it's cleared)

Dress Code

Please keep in mind that proper attire must be worn to shoot at Winding Brook Shooting Range.

In order to prevent hot brass from making contact with your skin; please consider the following-

NO OPEN-TOED SHOES ARE PERMITTED ON THE RANGE

We suggest comfortable tennis shoes & pants, but shorts are permitted to wear as well if you choose to do so.

Ladies - we recommend you wear a crew-neck style t shirt (not a cut shirt) as an added measure to avoid brass from making contact with your skin.

AMMO POLICY

**Due to recent issues of permanent damage to the range, ALL RIFLE AMMUNITION found to ADHERE TO A MAGNET will NOT be allowed on the range!**

You MAY bring in your own ammo -  both for handguns and rifles otherwise!

*RIFLES MUST BE UNLOADED & MAGS MUST BE EMPTY*
