Firearm Safety Rules

GOLDEN RULE: Treat ALL firearms as though they are LOADED.

  • All firearms under any condition are considered loaded and should be handled as such.
  • Never aim a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy.
  • Keep your finger off of the trigger until you are pointed at your target and ready to shoot.
  • Rapid fire (up to 5 round bursts) must be approved by range staff.
  • All pistols and rifles must be kept pointing down range at all times.
  • A “Cease Fire” may be called at any time and for any reason.  In the event of a “Cease Fire,” immediately stop firing your firearm and wait for further instruction from range staff.  Do not begin firing again until the range staff has given permission.
  • Never load or fire a firearm if there is any doubt of its ability to operate safely or you are unfamiliar with its operation.
  • Never leave a loaded firearm unattended.
  • All firearms must be clear and bagged or cased before exiting the firing line.
